Tsunamis in Paradise....

Well it is 12:14 AM, and we are currently in a tsunamis warning. There was a 8.8 earthquake in Japan today and the tsunamis is supposed to hit Hawaii at 3 AM....the 3rd tsunamis alarm is going off as I type....
Hmmm....kinda scary, but hopefully everything will be alright. We have backpacks packed and ready with food, water, ID, a change of clothes, and a camera to document!
We were told just to go on the 2nd floor of the hale's at 2, but besides that we just have to wait!
Haha all this exciment is kind of fun, but I'm nervous for the outcome.
It all started earlier when I got a forward message from my friend Courtney at about 9:30 saying "8.8 Earthquake hit Japan, Hawaii is on tsunamis watch" I was a little nervous, but didn't think anything of it and just went on doing my homework. Then I got in the shower and I had 4 missed calls from my cousin Skylar and he was calling me again, so I answered and he then tells me that he had gone to foodland (local grocery store) with some of the boys. Well they got there and it was PACKED, all the locals were stocking up on food and cases of waterbottles. I guess the tsunamis is a little bit bigger than we were thinking... :/
So I call and wake up my mom and she calms me down for like 15 minutes. She told me to put stuff up high and have a backpack ready just in case. So I felt a little better, I went to change my laundry and all of the sudden the tsunamis alarm is going off...My whole hale is going crazy. I tried calling Courtney and Skylar and both of their phones were off.....I kinda started freaking out.
I called my mom almost in tears cuz I just wanted to know where Skylar and Courtney were...I went to Sky's window but he wasn't there. So I started walking back and Sky found me!!
I gave him a huge hug and held him for like 10 minutes...he had made contact with Courtney and I guess Verizon and AT&T cell towers were down so that's why only my phone was working.
We met up with Courtney and I went back to my room with her to change my wash (didn't wanna lose my clothes!) and pack my backpack.
The boys went to a room in the top floor in their hale, and me and Courtney came to her 2nd floor room (since mine is on the bottom floor). I brought my backpack,my computer, and my letters from Cam :)
Now we are just waiting and praying! Hopefully we are okay.
My heart is aching for all the thousands devistated in Japan today...and for any other families that may be devastated by this disaster.
It really gets you thinking about what is important in life, and how near the second coming is. These are the signs of the last days and we are in the 11th hour. Things are going to get worse before they get better, so we just need to keep our families and friends close and remember why we are here and that the savior will watch over us.
I know everything will be okay, but who knows what the next few days have in store! Hopefully nothing.....I'll try to keep you updated :)

The perfect day, with the perfect people :)

After a few hours by the pool we went up to see how Heather was doing. She still was having bad stomach pains....so the boys got done with golf and Heather was in so much pain that we decided to go to the hospital. We told them that they could just take us back to campus, but they said they would just drop us off in town and then join us for dinner after they figured out what was wrong.
So they valet at T-bay go and get the car and of course in rolls a Gold Convertable Mustang :) haha so we all pile in! Heather was in tons of pain, so we plug in the GPS to the closest hospital. It was about 45 minutes away.
Me, Court, and Sky go crusin into downtown Waikiki in our convertable :) haha
Well we had been at the pool all morning and were still in our suits with no makeup....so of course first stop, SEPHORA! We gave our selves complete makeovers with all the samples haha walked in looking horrible...walked out looking like a million bucks!

Then we decided to enjoy our $50 and we went to Forever 21 and bought complete new outfits...earrings and all! Never walked into a store in a swim suit....gone into the dressing room and walked out in a totally different outfit! Haha we felt like we were in a movie.
So we cruised around Waikiki for a bit, and then went to dinner and California Pizza Kitchen. We got drinks, and appetizers and everything.

We still had money left over after so me and Court bought some matching Hawaii t-shirts and Sky bought some board shorts.
Unfortunately, while we were having the time of our lives Heather's appendix was rupturing! They called us and told us she was going to have to have surgery. So we drove back to the hospital and Jefferson then took us back to campus. Luckily Heather's surgery went well and they were able to still fly home the next day.
Thanks so much Jeff and Heather for a day we will NEVER forget, and and as poor college students can hardly even imagine!

first blog post!

Well I have always thought that blogs are more of a married person thing to do, so therefore I have never even thought of doing one! As I was sitting here tonight with my best friend Courtney we were looking at her sister's adorable blog from before she was married, and now her, and her husbands "Mr. & Mrs." blog. I then showed her my 3 cute sister's blogs (Jessica, Nessa, and Morgan) and I decided that I want to start one of my own. Even if no one ever looks at it or read it, it will be a way for me to journal my life on the computer :)
After all this is a pretty exciting time in life and I want to look back at my little blog of my college days. I'm sure I'll be able to quote Mr. Dickens when he said "It was the best of times and it was the worst of times." I decided on the title for my blog to be "dream big" because that's just what life is about right now....and we all should dream big. I have so many goals and dreams that I want to accomplish in life and maybe one day I will be able to fulfill all of my dreams.
I am off to a good start as I sit here in my dorm living my first dream.....going to school at Brigham Young University Hawaii.
I am so blessed and truly am one of the luckiest girls in this world. I am excited to start this blog, and I hope I can catch up on some of my adventures that have already happened in Hawaii!
